FCB Desserts LLC
FCB Desserts LLC opened Jan. 1 and last month launched its first product under the Benissimo brand of gelato and sorbet. Working from 540 W. McDaniel St., the wholesaler and distributor produces the cold treats fresh daily with five employees, said President Vicki Ables. FCB Desserts owner and CEO Frank Bailey bought and renovated the former plumbing contractor’s building, and it now houses a commercial kitchen and warehouse. Ables said Benissimo is sold to restaurants, including Bambino’s Italian Café, Digiacinto and Arris Pizza. Gelato and sorbet flavors include chocolate chip mint, coconut basil and double chocolate. Company officials are discussing black walnut flavors with Hammons Products Co. FCB Desserts also sells to caterers, and Ables said they’re working toward tapping into groceries and stores that sell by the scoop. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 616-2098.
