Since joining Integrity Home Care in 2005, Michelle Heidt has worked her way into a leadership role.
“I began at Integrity Home Care as payroll manager, and within five years, I was promoted to chief financial officer,” she says. “My role in building our company of more than 2,500 employees has given me great personal and professional satisfaction.”
Heidt is a graduate of Missouri State University, where in 1997, she earnd a bachelor’s in accounting. In her current position at Integrity, she is responsible for initiating, developing and managing all financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting. She also works to keep all of the company’s employees happy by getting them their paychecks on time.
“In addition to my duties as chief financial officer, I have been responsible for the completion of several projects, including overseeing the move our of company to a new location,” she says of the company’s late 2009 move to its corporate office at 2960 N. Eastgate Ave.
Her duties also include helping the company improve its operations, whether through researching and implementing cost-saving software or combining departmental functions to create a more efficient billing and collections division.
“I also am continually seeking new advances within our industry that will improve our service to our clients and create opportunities for advancement for our caregivers, clinicians and employees,” she says.
As one of seven people listed at www.integrityhc.com as an administrator, Heidt has her work cut out for her, but Heidt uses team building and encouragement to lead.
“I am committed to building each member of the team by discerning their abilities and skills, and utilizing their strengths and weaknesses to help them to become successful,” she says. “My role as an encourager is important, as I support each person with patience and understanding as well as a push from time to time if needed.”
Through her role with Integrity, Heidt has volunteered at events benefiting local organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Convoy of Hope and Camp Barnabas.
She also is involved in several civic organizations on her own, including the Rotary Club of Springfield-Metro chapter. In June 2010, she graduated from Leadership Springfield, and for nearly a decade, she was volunteer chairwoman of the concessions committee for James River Assembly’s recently canceled “I Love America” Fourth of July event.
“I feel it is both a responsibility and a privilege to serve and be involved. I am enthusiastic, committed and passionate about serving those less fortunate in our area,” she says. “I believe that by taking on leadership roles, I can be essential to the future of Springfield and the surrounding area.”
