Ozarks Technical Community College hired a Missouri University of Science and Technology director as its new chief technology officer.
David Esping, who started July 20, will be paid a salary of $110,000, said OTC spokeswoman Laura French.
“Mr. Esping’s comprehensive background in both information technology and higher education will help us take our students’ learning experiences to the next level,” OTC Chancellor Hal Higdon said in a news release.
Esping had worked as information technology director at Missouri S&T, where he was hired in 2012. He previously worked 12 years in IT at Minnesota State University.
At OTC, Esping is tasked with leading technology-driven education initiatives and its IT functions.
“Today’s higher education institutions rely on an agile, forward-thinking IT department,” he said in the release.
Esping succeeds Joel LaReau, who retired as the college’s vice chancellor for IT in June after 15 years.
