The International Game Fish Association’s Fishing Hall of Fame and associated exhibits are relocating to Springfield for the new
America's Wildlife Museum and Aquarium.
The $32 million hall of fame housed in a distinctive, steel-sheathed building in Dania Beach, Fla., failed to gain enough visitors, even in south Florida. Still, some officials in the southern state are baffled by the move, according to the Sun Sentinel.
"Missouri?" Dania Beach Mayor Marco Salvino said. "They don't even have saltwater fishing in Missouri."
The IGFA will continue to operate its headquarters and a fishing library out of the building, according to the report.
