2015 40 Under 40 Honoree: Stephanie Shadwick

Posted online
Stephanie Shadwick is a woman who goes after what she wants and knows how to get it. Born and raised in Springfield, Shadwick is dedicated to giving back to her community.

Currently a project manager at nForm Architecture LLC, she oversees design and construction on multimillion-dollar projects throughout the state, including campuswide renovations to the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, expansion and additions to the Macon County Courthouse and the K-8 facility at College of the Ozarks.

But her efforts don’t stop there.

In 2006, Shadwick was selected to be the first on-the-ground team member to commence business operations in China while working for Butler, Rosenbury & Partners.

“During this six-month assignment, I resided in China as the sole representative of the architecture firm, working with and leading a team of 12 Chinese designers in a unique international business collaboration,” she says.

But she believes her work at home carries more weight. Her proudest accomplishment comes in her work with Springfield’s Child Advocacy Center, where she has helped raise more than $100,000 for the cause.

“As a founding member and past president of the Young Advocates Council for the CAC, I have had the privilege of working directly with the CAC staff, the board of directors and more than 20 peers to raise awareness in the community,” she says

Shadwick also serves her alma matter, Drury University, in various capacities. She is chairwoman of the Alumni Advisory Council for the Missouri Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi, where she oversees the executive positions of chapter president and the leadership nominating committee for the chapter.

“My advisory role gives me the opportunity to work directly with, mentor, and influence the young women using a values-based leadership model,” she says.

She is also a member of the Professional Advisory Council for the Hammons School of Architecture, where she assists in providing oversight of curriculum and programs as they relate to the National Architectural Accreditation Board.

Shadwick is a founding member of the Springfield Foundation for Architecture, a mission to bring architectural awareness to the community.

“Working towards this mission, in 2012, I helped lead the effort to establish a permanent archive, host a public exhibition, and arrange an architectural lecture honoring the work of late (American Institute of Architects) fellow, Richard P. Stahl.”

As a representative of the Springfield American Institute of Architects chapter, she also used her unique skills after the devastating tornado struck Joplin.

“I volunteered my time to help lead a two-day charrette to design and produce visual aids for the city of Joplin and interested developers,” she says.[[In-content Ad]]
