Cattle Baron's Ball

Larry and Collette Young

Honorary Chairman of the 2011 American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball Larry Young, and his wife Collette, had the winning bid of $13,500 for a black-and-white Clydesdale donated by Wil Fischer Cos. during the Aug. 20 fundraiser at Missouri State University’s Darr Agricultural Center. Young, CEO of Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., and another guest matched each other’s $10,000 donations to the American Cancer Society’s Patient Transportation Program to provide $20,000 in gas cards for patients traveling to and from their necessary treatments. This year’s ball raised $715,000 through ticket sales, corporate contributions, and silent and live auctions of livestock and other items.
