Greene County names deputy budget officer

Posted online
The Greene County Commission voted to appoint Tina Phillips as deputy budget officer.

Phillips starts April 6. Greene County spokeswoman Erin Hedlun said via email Phillips will be paid a salary of $40,331.

Phillips served two years as financial coordinator for Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott’s office and has 22 years accounting, budgeting and management experience, according to a news release.

“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and the desire to serve the citizens of Greene County,” Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Cirtin said in the release.

The deputy budget officer assists the budget officer with building the county’s annual budget, monitoring its financial condition, analyzing the effect of legislation, and developing and maintaing special projects.

Phillips will report directly to Jeff Scott, who started as budget officer March 2. He replaced Martha Mundt, who left in October for a job as director of finance for the city of Raytown, near Kansas City, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

Greene County’s 2015 budget is $117.5 million.[[In-content Ad]]
