BLS: Greene County wages improve slightly

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a slight improvement in Greene County wages.

During the second quarter - the latest data available, released last week - Greene County average weekly wages moved up 0.8 percent to $715 compared to last year, according to a news release. The county ranked 269th among the 339 largest U.S. counties measured by the BLS in terms of percentage change.

The Missouri average weekly wage increased 1.9 percent to $818 for the second quarter, while the U.S. average moved up 2.1 percent to $940.

As of June 30, there were 158,900 employed in Greene County, representing a 2.3 percent increase compared to the same time last year, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
