HealthcareFirst Inc. plans to hire an additional 20 local employees during the first year of occupation at its new Springfield headquarters.

Bobby Robertson, president and CEO of the Web-based software firm, said the company will vacate its current 15,000-square-foot headquarters in Ozark and a 3,000-square-foot office it occupies in Nixa by Thanksgiving. The company will relocate its current local staff of 80 to the Tuscany Court property in south Springfield, 1343 E. Kingsley St.

Robertson said revenue growth in the company's core product line pushed a need for additional space and employees.

"When our customers are seeing payment pressures and increased regulatory burden, they're looking for solutions that will help them with that," he said, noting core product revenue, which makes up 90 percent of total revenue, increased over 300 percent since 2010.

The new jobs would include software developers, engineers and architects, customer support, account management and revenue cycle management positions, Robertson said.

The HealthcareFirst chief executive purchased the former University of Phoenix building early last month for an undisclosed amount and will lease the property back to his company, he said.

The building had been listed for $3.3 million, according to GStancer.com, but Gregg Stancer of Nixa-based Gregg Stancer Realty said it sold for under list price. According to Greene County assessor records, the property has a 2014 taxable appraised value of $2.5 million.

HealthcareFirst, which employes 150 nationwide, produces software for the home health care and hospice care industries, according to its website. Robertson and his management team co-own the firm with Charlotte, N.C.-based private equity firm Pamlico Capital. The company also operates offices in Baton Rouge, La., and Roseville, Minn., according to HealthcareFirst.com.[[In-content Ad]]
