Southwest Missouri iPhone owners now won't have to look far to find the nearest Arvest Bank branch or automated teller machine.
The Arkansas-based bank launched a free iPhone app this week that directs customers to the nearest of Arvest's 220 bank branches or 320 ATMs using global positioning system technology, as well as providing branch hours and driving directions.
Arvest is no stranger to using Internet technology to communicate with customers, already offering mobile banking, a blog and a feed through online messaging site Twitter.
"Many customers are familiar with businesses near their offices and homes, but once they are on a side of town they are unfamiliar with or visiting friends in a different area, they may need help finding the nearest location," said Jason Kincy, Arvest vice president of marketing, in a news release. "This iPhone app takes the guesswork out of finding the nearest, open Arvest location."
Springfield businesses American National Property and Casualty Insurance Co. and TLC Properties also launched custom iPhone apps this year. ANPAC's CHROME app offers pricing and insurance information for classic-car enthusiasts, while the TLC app allows customers to find open apartment units or pay their rent electronically.
