Ozarks' 'Extreme Makeover' hits the airwaves
Jeremy Elwood
Web Editor

The Hampton family of Ash Grove got its moment in the national spotlight Sunday night.

Parents Chris and Niki and their six children - Dakota, Gage, Hannah, Jacob, Kira and Lexi - were the fortunate recipients of a new home from ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in July. If you missed the episode centered on the family's new home, click on the link below.

The one-week project was the result of a massive donated effort from numerous local companies. Sam and Michelle Clifton of Millstone Custom Homes led the build team, which used building materials donated by Meek's - the Builder's Choice. PFI Western Store donated the new barn used by the family - Chris Hampton is president of the Missouri Family Rodeo Association.

In addition, the family received several other donations: their mortgage was paid off by collections from numerous donors; Drury University offered full tuition scholarships to all six children; Farmers Insurance donated a year of free home insurance coverage; Purina Mills offered a year's worth of feed for the family's horses, chickens, cats and dogs; rAVe Design Services donated audio and visual equipment, as well as a security system and a year of security monitoring; and M&M Landscaping donated all the landscaping materials and offered a year of maintenance service.

"Knowing that people can put forth this kind of effort without knowing somebody - an example of true love - shows great character," Chris Hampton said upon the completion of the home in July. "We just want to tell everyone thank you so much for everything we've received here."
