CFO awards $482K in college scholarships
SBJ Staff

As Ozarks high school students prepare to begin college, many will have help from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks' scholarship program.

Earlier this month, CFO awarded $482,056 in individual scholarships, including renewals from nearly 200 scholarship funds. CFO manages more than $12.8 million in assets dedicated to scholarships, according to a news release.

While CFO scholarships benefit students at public and private schools nationwide, several Missouri schools received funding, including:

• Missouri State University, which received $105,196 to benefit 75 students at its Springfield and West Plains campuses;

• Ozarks Technical Community College, which received $29,390 to benefit 31 students;

• Drury University, which received $26,900 to benefit 15 students;

• Southwest Baptist University, which received $8,150 to benefit 10 students; and

• Evangel University, which received $8,290 to benefit eight students.

Students who apply for scholarships during the 2009-10 school year will have a new resource available. CFO has added an interactive database to allow students and school counselors to view lists of scholarships managed by CFO. Each listing includes application information, with downloadable applications available for some.

The scholarship database is available at the link below.
