While construction starts are on the rise, there is also a surge in property owners choosing to renovate and remodel. On the residential front, The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Remodeling Market Index rose three points to 56 in the second quarter of 2014, regaining the momentum built in 2013.


That’s good news for Erin Winter and his crew at Trademark Renovations, who reports seeing the industry upswing at play in his business. This time last year, home and business owners were primarily just scheduling repairs and minimal upgrades. Today however, Winter’s schedule is filling up with full-scale remodel and renovation projects.

“As the economy is recovering, we’re seeing larger jobs and we’ve made the investments and adjustments to meet the demand,” Winter said. “But big or small, it doesn’t matter what the project is, every single customer is important to us, and we want them to feel like their project is our most important.”

Winter got his start in the business as a landlord handling repairs and renovations in his own apartment buildings, and dealt with a wide variety of contractors. Because of that background, he still offers special property repair and management contracts to landlords and maintenance companies, and offers storm damage and 24 hour emergency services.
