“Built like a Mack Truck” is a common phrase in the U.S., and generally used to refer to something that is solidly built and will provide years of reliable service. At Tri-State Truck Center, it’s safe to say that the company is “built like a Mack Truck” and most definitely built around one.

Mack Trucks, Inc. got their start in the early part of the 20th Century hauling heavy artillery pieces through the mud of World War I battlefields. It was during that time the company earned their famous nickname, “bulldog” and in 1932 Mack began putting the bulldog emblem on all of their trucks. Mack’s growth and leadership in the industry continued and in 1938 the company introduced the first Mack diesel. By 1940, the company was known for everything from heavy-duty dump trucks to fire trucks and offered the most comprehensive product line of any truck manufacturer.

When Tri-State opened their doors in 1945, their primary offering was Mack Trucks. Relying on the manufacturer’s reputation, quality, and longevity, Mack was the perfect fit for the growing company. Since then, like Mack, Tri-State has provided decades of reliability and has grown to serve nine locations in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, and Mississippi. Recently expanding into the Springfield market, Tri-State brings their experience, resources, and commitment to over-the-road and local truck drivers, with a full line of Mack and Volvo products.

“We’ve got bulldog blood running through our veins,” Tri-State’s Branch Manager Tex Beal said. “I’ve personally worked with Mack Trucks since 1981, and Tri-State built the company around them.”

Beal’s dedication to the Mack brand goes beyond the product, which is 100% American made and top of the line, to the brand’s people. Like Tri-State, Mack invests heavily in their staff and the customers they serve. “In 1965, Zenon C.R. Hansen, a Mack executive, said that Mack had a great name, a great product, and above all it had the people.”

“We feel the same way. We have a great name in the industry, great products, and great people,” Beal said. “Our employees and our customers are top-notch and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them.”

Having been named a Mack Dealer of the Year twice in the past four years, as well as Leasing Dealer of the Year twice, Tri-State is a recognized industry leader. With a thorough understanding of the trucking industry, especially when it comes to Mack Trucks, Tri-State’s new and used truck sales and leasing, parts, and service departments can serve any customer in any application, including dump trucks, refuse, semi-trucks, and local delivery trucks.

“They say that Mack is the truck that built America” Tri-State Sales Coordinator Mark Orchard concluded. “And it’s the brand that built Tri-State Truck Center.”
