KPM CPAs PC promoted James Lewis to president and managing shareholder. Lewis, who succeeds Mike Redmon, joined KPM in 1981 and specializes in taxation and wealth management services.

Paige DeCourcy, staff accountant at KPM, received her certified public accountant license from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Education
The Nixa Board of Education received the 2014 Governance Team Award from the Missouri School Boards’ Association. Nixa was one of 22 school districts statewide recognized for professional development by the board and superintendent, regional and statewide leadership, and participation in legislative advocacy for public schools.

New Covenant Academy hired John Hartley as the school’s first head baseball coach. Hartley has 30 years of coaching experience, with 21 years at Willard High School.

Eric Crain, NCA’s athletic director and boys’ soccer coach, was named the first head coach for girls’ soccer. Crain has 13 years of high school soccer coaching experience.

Anne Francis, Buffalo Prairie Middle School special education teacher, was one of 100 educators nationwide selected for the annual PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators program. Judges reviewed submissions of videos and written essays addressing how candidates use digital teaching in their schools. Francis will receive professional development opportunities, such as virtual training, access to premium and exclusive resources, and invitations to special events.

Government
The Springfield Police Department promoted four to sergeants: officer Travis Wilson and Cpls. Heather Anderson, Chad Hampton and Tatum Dewitt.

Health Care
Phoenix Home Care promoted Tami Sandefer to marketing manager and hired Whitney Hall as a nurse recruiting specialist. Sandefer, who worked previously as a regional marketing representative, directs brand development plans and budgets. Hall worked previously at Peak Performance Physical Therapy as administrative assistant and has a bachelor’s in marketing from Missouri State University.

Phoenix Home Care’s Branson office received accreditation for Medicare home health services from the Community Health Care Accreditation Program. The designation recognizes advancement of community-based care.

Insurance
Brooke Van Houtan joined Connell Insurance as an employee benefits producer. She previously worked for Shelter Insurance.

Nonprofit
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield was awarded $250,000 in tax credits from the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Youth Opportunities Program. The organization was one of eight in Missouri to receive a combined $1.32 million for their efforts to develop youth and prevent crime.

The state DED approved $95,110 in tax credits to The eFactory. Eight small-business incubators in Missouri shared $500,000 in available credits.

AARP Missouri selected Greg Edwards, of Ozark, to join the organization’s executive council. A retired businessman, Edwards previously worked for Merck Corp. as director of human resources-global supply chain.

Real Estate
Isabelle Walker of Eagle Management & Realty was named 2013 Member of the Year by the Springfield Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors. She also received the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Missouri State Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

Sales
Town & County hired Arnold Borenstein as a sales associate. With a bachelor’s from the University of Maryland, he has 20 years of experience in clothing manufacturing and retail.[[In-content Ad]]
