Working to provide hope and healing for children and families throughout the Ozarks, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is creating miracles throughout the area. Since 1983, CMN Hospitals has raised more than $4.7 billion—most of it $1 at a time—for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. In the Ozarks, those donations are earmarked to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care through CoxHealth. CoxHealth offers specialty care to pediatric patients, which supports the CMN Hospitals mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

“We want to provide hope and healing for children and families in any medical situation, and we care for children with all types of medical conditions,” CMN Hospitals Executive Director Tim Siebert said. “What’s unique about CMN Hospitals of CoxHealth is the fact that 100% of donations and proceeds we collect help our local kids right here at home.”

Keeping CMN Hospitals funds local is possible thanks to CoxHealth, which underwrites the organization’s administrative and operating expenses. With several programs providing financial assistance, CMN Hospitals is able to assist families with everything from wheelchairs, leg braces and prescription medication to travel expenses for out-of-town appointments and assistance with CoxHealth hospital bills. The organization also offers grants to assist with physical, speech and occupational therapies and helps families obtain specialty medical equipment. In addition, CMN Hospitals funds a variety of educational workshops and the C.A.R.E. Mobile, which provides primary care, physicals and immunizations to local children.

“We try in every way possible to relieve the burden and worry for the families that we serve,” Siebert added. “Many that come to us are dealing with the stress and complexity of their child’s medical situation, and we try to ease that burden by providing the necessary funding and care. That allows them to focus on what matters most, their child.”

There are numerous opportunities for the business community to become involved with CMN Hospitals, with everything from sponsorships to fundraisers. The organization’s largest event, the Telethon, provides a win-win for area partners, with strong promotions leading up to the event through various media platforms, providing great visibility as well as the opportunity to make a difference.

“We are fortunate to have strong local business support, and are grateful to local businesses who continue to support their communities,” Siebert concluded. “The fact that 100% of gifts and proceeds goes to our local kids with medical needs means that our donors can support their friends and neighbors throughout the Ozarks.”
