Restaurants are the cornerstone of neighborhoods and communities, and Matt Krupa wants to do more than just provide a place for people to go.  He wants to be an active participant in the community, and enhance the neighborhoods where his businesses operate. Through both 425 Downtown and Pasta Express, he is able to do just that.

“We are always looking for ways to help others and give back,” Krupa said. “We love being in the neighborhood with both 425 Downtown and Pasta Express. It means a lot to us to be able to be a part of the events going on in the neighborhood.”

425 Downtown is a full service events and catering company that offers an exciting atmosphere for everything from wedding receptions and holiday events to business meetings, luncheons, and workshops. The building, constructed in 1915, has been immaculately restored. On site, 425 Downtown offers a built-in bar, prep kitchen, tables, chairs and basic linens. To meet audio-visual needs, a projector, screen and an in-house sound system are available.

In addition, 425 Downtown can help make an event hassle-free by supplying DJ service, valet parking, event planning, full catering, bar service and more. All these available services help set 425 Downtown apart from its competitors. 425 Downtown’s Tori Santos commented; “We focus on excellence from start to finish. So whether it is a big event or a smaller gathering, when someone hires 425 Downtown, they know their event will be great.”

Santos continued, “We are a full service venue with a great downtown location. Our space is gorgeous with exposed brick walls, antique hardwood floors, an open wood beam ceiling and wood pillars. It’s an atmosphere you can only find downtown.”

While 425 Downtown is known for top-notch events, Krupa has built Pasta Express to be a family destination and a part of the daily life of the community. Krupa works hard to empower the greater Springfield community by participating in numerous fundraisers and multiple sports sponsorships. With a third Pasta Express, located at 321 E Battlefield, slated to open in early October Krupa looks forward to the increased opportunities for involvement.

“We want to walk with you through your day-to-day life and your special events,” Krupa said. “We want to be your meeting place and be a part of where you are through every age and life stage.”

For Krupa, the future looks exciting. “When I opened my first restaurant, I made a commitment to the community to serve and support and have worked hard every day to keep that commitment. There isn’t an end in sight for our serve and support commitment.
