At Great American Title Insurance Agency (GAT), it has never been about who is the cheapest, it’s about doing the job correctly, efficiently, and honestly, which requires the best employees, training, education, and current technology. GAT makes sure that their clients don’t have to sweat the details of the title process and can move towards closing with confidence.

“Real estate is the largest investment most people will ever make,” GAT VP of Operations Brian Russell said. “We are results and reputation driven and we do our best to eliminate the stress.”

Trust is crucial to every transaction for GAT, and Peggy Barton, CEO and Owner, makes sure that her staff is the best in the business, professional, educated and experienced. Barton also works hard to maintain consistency. While many of GAT’s competitors have multiple offices, they are often managed or owned individually with different expectations, procedures, and price structures. GAT has 12 branches all following the same company philosophy and procedures to make sure that the client experiences the best possible outcome, regardless of which branch they use.

Not letting the recent economic downturn slow them down, GAT took a gamble in late 2011and invested a substantial amount of money into upgrading and changing literally everything within their operations. That gamble has paid off and 2012 is proving to be the best financial year in the industry since 2007. In fact, at GAT their new order count is up 30%, employees have better working environments, products are going out at a much quicker rate, and clients have many more benefits to choose from.

“It helped us strengthen our approach to customer care and satisfaction,” Russell says. “You don’t start a company to just own it, you start a company because you truly believe you can do it better than anyone else.”

Barton has almost 40 years in the industry, and while she has worked for corporate giants in larger metropolitan areas, Springfield is where she wanted to raise her family, and she has used her vast experience to build GAT into an area leader. Barton is a previous Honoree for SBJ’s Most Influential Women Award, and GAT is a past W. Curtis Strube small business award winner by the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and recognized as one of the fastest growing companies by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce. GAT has also been listed as the largest area Title Company by SBJ, and with 12 branch locations, currently has the largest market share of closings in all but one county they operate in.

“We believe Peggy has built the best,” Russell says. “And strive to be the best at all times. Every day we operate under the philosophy of doing the right thing and doing it well.”[[In-content Ad]]
