Tim and
Amy Ferguson took over Heroes Coffee Co., the wholesaler relocated to 401 Boonville Ave. in May and opened an espresso bar June 29. The Fergusons bought the company, formerly Oaxacafe Coffee Co., in 2009 and had operated at 621 N. Washington Ave., according to Office Manager Jami Hulse. At the 4,000-square-foot Boonville space, Heroes Coffee operates a roastery, home office, espresso bar and retail area, Hulse said. Heroes roasts and distributes coffee supplies to Springfield-area cafés, including The Brown Egg and Potter’s House, as well as Heroes cafés in Branson, West Plains, Bolivar, Sedalia and Pittsburg, Kan., Hulse said. Tim Ferguson said the company works with brokers in the U.S. to import beans from Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Sumatra. Aaron Kleier opened 633 Technologies on June 28. Run out of Kleier’s Springfield home, the business specializes in virus and spyware removal, PC tune-ups and software installation, said Kleier, who holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Missouri State University. Standard services – such as virus removal – are $75, hard-drive cleaning is $100, and PC backups are $25. He said consulting services are offered on a case-by-case basis. Glenstone Ave., approximately one mile from its former location at 2710 E. Kearney St. The 7,000-square-foot building is the former home of Goodyear Tire shop and was purchased by BORE/MPC LLC for an undisclosed amount, said
Kory Lee, a regional vice president for Big O Tires. The center has eight service bays – an increase from the five bays at the Kearney site – and provides regular vehicle maintenance including tire services, brake work and oil changes, Lee said.
