The International Data Corporation (IDC) recently released statistics demonstrating worldwide IT spending has rebounded strongly from the recession, as many businesses take advantage of the general economic recovery to catch up with overdue spending on critical hardware infrastructure. IDC shows capital spending on PCs, servers, storage, and network equipment soaring in recent quarters, producing strong year-over-year growth comparisons with the lowest period of the recession.

"IT spending growth in the U.S. and emerging markets has been strong during the past two quarters," said Stephen Minton, vice president of Worldwide IT Markets and Strategies at IDC. "Some of this is down to easy comparisons with the same period a year ago, but it also reflects very real pent-up demand for infrastructure spending, including investment in solutions such as virtualization and information management. Just as capital spending on hardware is the first thing to fall in a recession, it's also the first thing to come back up for air when IT budgets are surfacing above water."

Budgets are tight, but demands for new technologies are strong, and the question of how to manage IT systems is something many business owners are faced with. Do they hire someone to manage their systems? Re-assign or revamp a department? Many are choosing to outsource. As a matter of fact, more and more companies across the country, and around the world, are outsourcing some or all of their IT management functions to save money and free up resources to focus on more strategic initiatives.

Outsourcing has existed as a business practice almost as long as business itself. Michael F. Corbett & Associates, Ltd. recently conducted research with more than 500 executives and found that one in four organizations plan to increase their outsourcing spending by 25% or more, and most importantly, innovation is now seen as the key strategic benefit of outsourcing, which explains the rise in outsourcing IT management services.

“Technology utilized to its fullest potential can drive a business’ profits and competitive advantage,” Thomas H. Douglas, President of JMARK Business Solutions, Inc. says. “Business owners want to increase their bottom line so they are turning to Trusted Technology Advisors who understand the total impact of technology on their business, not only to support their staff, but to implement solutions that drive productivity, efficiencies, and profitability.”

JMARK is located in Springfield and was recently ranked 124 in the MSPmentor 100, an annual ranking of the world’s most progressive managed service providers.

Instead of ranking MSPs merely by total revenue, MSP mentor calculated an index measurement using such metrics as overall managed services revenue, overall managed services revenue growth, percentage managed services revenue growth, managed services revenue per employee, number of devices managed, and other data points comparing fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2009.

JMARK has also been named to the 2011 Inc. 5000 list of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies. In the last three years, JMARK has experienced 203% growth and is NO. 158 in the IT Services Industry Rank category out of 640 companies on Inc.'s 5000 list. Ranked at number 1397, JMARK moved up 438 spots on the list from their 2010 ranking.

Harvard Business Review has identified outsourcing as one of the most important management ideas and practices of the past 75 years, and with the rise in the out sourcing trend, JMARK continues to grow in revenue and employees even during this time of economic challenges. With a staff of 44 professionals, JMARK is the largest locally owned provider of premium technical services in Missouri.
