Game Changers: Carol Jones

Posted online
Who in Springfield can say they’ve built a company that’s connected to Warren Buffet? Carol Jones can. She started Carol Jones Realtors in 1983 and turned it into an organization that employed more than 400 agents before her retirement in 2008. In 1994, she sold it to Iowa Realty Corp., and both companies are members of HomeServices of America, an affiliate of Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway. Jones’ contributions to the community include establishing the Carol Jones Recovery Center for Women and as a founding member of the Ozarks Technical Community College Foundation. In 2010, Jones pledged a $500,000 donation to OTC to fund scholarships for disadvantaged women and to support a writing center that bears her name.
