Owners Bob and Merica Clinkenbeard opened My Hot Yoga LLC on Jan. 21 at 3014 E. Sunshine St., Ste. C, in the Southern Hills Shopping Center. Manager Alicia Epps said hot yoga involves performing classic yoga positions in a heated room. Classes are designed for any age, body type or ability, said Epps, a registered yoga consultant of the International Yoga Federation. There are four trainers on staff, and the Clinkenbeards are working toward their registration in Springfield. Clinkenbeard said the studio space is leased for five years from The Wooten Co. My Hot Yoga offers a $20 two-week package for unlimited yoga, a $15 class drop-in fee and $89 a month for unlimited yoga. Hours: Morning and evening classes are offered daily. Phone: (417) 888-0130.

Center for Economic Education
The Center for Economic Education opened Feb. 8 in the Missouri State University economics department at 901 S. National Ave., Strong Hall, Ste. 351, said Michael English, center president and CEO. The Kansas City-based statewide nonprofit promotes economic and financial education by affiliating with universities. At MSU, the center is working with the university’s bureau of economic research and shares office space with the MSU economics department at no charge. The center organizes programs that promote economic education for K–12 students and trains teachers in economics. The center is funded by $400,000 in grants from about 25 grantors, the largest of which is Bank of America Foundation’s $100,000 gift. Hours: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Rebecca Grille
Noah and Amy Smith opened The Rebecca Grille on Feb. 8 at 209 E. Walnut St., formerly Bijan’s Sea and Grille. The new restaurant serves lunch and dinner six days a week and brunch on Sunday. Lunch prices are $7 to $15, and dinner prices are $15 to $40, said Amy Smith, who has 10 years of restaurant management experience. Noah Smith has worked as an executive chef since 2003, helping to open Boomers Campus Bar and Restaurant and cooking at Ocean Zen before opening The Rebecca Grille. The Smiths lease the two-story building from Billy and Sara Jalili, and Mike Jalili, the owners of Flame and Touch restaurants, for an undisclosed amount. The Jalilis sold Bijan’s in 2008. The Olive Juice lounge and martini bar operates upstairs. Hours: 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5 p.m.–10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5 p.m.–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 863-7000.
