No. 21 Branson Landing

Posted online
The opening of Branson Landing in May of 2006 and the later opening of the Branson Convention Center in August of 2007 gave Branson tourism a much needed boost as the economy took a tumble.

An estimated 4.9 million people passed through Branson Landing in the first year of business for the $425 million Lake Taneycomo retail destination, developed by HCW Development Co. Branson Landing’s centerpiece is an $8 million fountain that entertains visitors.

The influx of visitors during the first full year of Branson Landing and the opening of the $54 million Branson Convention Center were cited as contributing factors in setting revenue records in Branson with $14.8 million in sales tax revenue and $12.1 million in tourism tax revenue in 2007.

The development of Branson Landing, which received state tax increment financing, helped boost the value of new construction in Branson.

Branson Landing now hosts more than 100 specialty shops including Bass Pro and Belk’s Department Store.
