Greene County’s per capita personal income rose 0.6 percent to $36,869 in 2013, up from $36,625 in 2012.

In terms of personal income, the county ranked 36th among Missouri counties. In percentage change from 2012, Greene ranked 113th, according to a Nov. 20 news release from the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Nationwide, personal income grew last year in 2,695 counties, fell in 390 and was unchanged in 28. On average, personal income grew 2 percent in U.S. metropolitan areas and 2.1 percent outside metro areas. That’s down from 5.3 percent growth in metro areas in 2012, and 4.4 percent growth outside metro areas that year, the BEA reports.

Inflation - measured by the national price index for personal consumption expenditures - slowed to 1.2 percent last year from 1.8 percent in 2012, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
