Greene County wages rise 3.7%

Wages in Greene County rose 3.7 percent in the first quarter, according to data released last week by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

For the three months ended March 31, wage earners in the county brought in an average $738 per week, according to a news release.

Among the 339 largest counties in the U.S., Greene County ranked 98th in terms of percent change compared to first-quarter 2013.

For the year ended March 31, 281 of those counties reported increased employment, including Greene County.

Employment in the county increased 1.9 percent to 156,100 during the first quarter, according to the BLS.[[In-content Ad]]
