Drury business school undergoes leadership change

Posted online
The head of Drury University’s Breech School of Business Administration is set to retire next month, meaning a change of the guard.

With Michael Shirley retiring at the end of May after five years with the school, Robin Sronce, associate professor of management, immediately stepped into the position of acting director and will become interim director June 1, according to a news release.

“Dr. Sronce is well positioned to take the reins and lead Breech through this transitional time,” said Steven Combs, vice president for academic affairs, in the release. “She is a proven leader who is dedicated to advancing the mission of Breech and the university. I have the utmost confidence in her abilities.”

James Simmerman, assistant professor of finance, was selected to serve as acting assistant director.

Sronce received her undergraduate degrees in business and sociology from Drury in 1983 and has been a faculty member at the school since 2006, according to the release.

“I am thrilled to be able to lead an institution that has meant so much to me, first as student and now as a faculty member and mentor to our students,” Sronce said in the release. “We have a rich tradition of creating engaged and ethical business leaders, and we will continue to carry that mission forward in a meaningful way for today’s students and employers.”[[In-content Ad]]
