O'Reilly Auto executives sell 186K shares

Four O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) executives sold over 186,000 shares this week cumulatively valued at roughly $38.6 million, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

Ted Wise, executive vice president of expansion, sold the most shares: 85,178 in three separate deals on Feb. 23, totaling $17.7 million in transactions.

O’Reilly Auto board Chairman David O’Reilly netted $13.9 million Feb. 23, when he sold a combined 66,799 shares in two deals, according to the SEC filings.

Steve Jasinski, senior vice president of information systems, sold 33,911 shares for roughly $7 million on Feb. 24.

A day earlier, the company’s senior vice president of western store operations and sales, Byron Childers, sold 150 shares for $31,060, according to the filings.

The latest transactions mark at least nine O’Reilly Auto officers and directors who have sold shares since the company’s stock crossed the $200 threshold in early February. After hitting $200 for the first time since its initial public offering in April 1993, shares have traded as high as $214.

In disclosing its 2014 earnings - a 16 percent increase to $778.2 million - O’Reilly Auto also announced its board approved the repurchase of an additional $500 million in shares through its buyback program for 2015. In 2014, the company repurchased 5.7 million shares valued at $866 million, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

ORLY shares were trading at $208.93 as of 9:41 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $141.08 to $214.15.[[In-content Ad]]
