Branson Airport inks deal with new carrier

Posted online
Sanford, Fla.-based Orange Air LLC signed on to offer three charter flights out of Branson Airport this spring.

Orange Air becomes the third carrier to operate public charters through the Branson AirExpress name, along with Buzz Airways and Elite Airways, according to a news release.

Starting May 6-7, Orange Air will provide 150-seat flights to New Orleans, Cincinnati and Cancun, Mexico. One-way flights to New Orleans and Cincinnati start at $99, while a flight to Cancun - with a stop and no plane change in New Orleans - starts at $199.

“This new service provides low-fare travel options that have not previously existed to/from our area,” Branson Airport Executive Director Jeff Bourk said in the release.

With the addition of Orange Air, Branson Airport now offers service to seven cities, including Houston, Texas, and Denver by Elite Airways, and Chicago and Austin, Texas, by Buzz Airways.

Branson Airport is filling the gaps left by Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, which both ended service at the financially struggling airport last year, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.[[In-content Ad]]
