Ozarks Technical Community College today named Jan Robbins, executive director of Springfield-based nonprofit GYN Cancers Alliance, the new president of the board for the school's fundraising body, OTC Foundation.
The foundation's board of directors also chose BKD LLP CEO Neal Spencer to serve as the foundation's president-elect, according to an OTC news release. He will take over as president in the spring of 2011.
The OTC Foundation was established in 1995 as a nonprofit separate from the college to help fund the institution's growth, according to its Web site.
Today the foundation gives scholarships, provides program support, works toward capital improvement and gives other forms of aid to the college, according to the site.
The foundation receives donations from individuals, corporations and foundations, the site said.
The foundation is currently involved in what it calls its "Major Gifts Capital Campaign." The initiatives of the campaign include $2.5 million for student scholarships, $2 million for the Center for Health Education, $2 million for student support programs and $3 million for workforce development, according to the news release.
