The 2010 season of World Team Tennis is scheduled to bring two former world No. 1 women's tennis players to Springfield to face the Springfield Lasers.
The Lasers' 2010 schedule, announced Thursday, includes a July 5 visit from the St. Louis Aces and former world champion Lindsay Davenport during the Lasers home opener, while the New York Buzz and former top world player Martina Hingis are scheduled to visit July 17.
Tickets for the Davenport and Hingis visits are available only as part of a season ticket package; season tickets cost $65 for grandstand seats and $135 for chair-back seats and are available for purchase on the Lasers Web site.
The Springfield Lasers play their home matches at the 2,500-seat Mediacom Tennis Stadium, in Cooper Tennis Complex. The team was last year's Western Conference champion and had a perfect 8-0 record at home.
World Team Tennis, which celebrates its 35th season this year, was co-founded by tennis legend Billie Jean King as a venue for legends, current professionals and young players to play together nationwide.
