The eFactory seeks applicants for 2nd accelerator

Posted online
As The eFactory’s first business accelerator cohort winds down, the Missouri State University program seeks applicants for its second class of startups this spring.

The four companies participating in the first cohort are scheduled to present their business ideas to potential investors during The eFactory Accelerator Demo Day event scheduled 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Gillioz Theatre.

Eagle Speak, Mofin Labs, Shopzeely and The Daily Scholar were selected in July to join the accelerator program. They received $30,000 in seed money in exchange for 8 percent equity held by a subsidiary of Springfield Innovation Inc., as well as office space and mentorship opportunities. Springfield Business Journal has covered the companies’ journey during the Aug. 1-Oct. 21 program, including their investor plans, mentorships and target demographics.

The second cohort is scheduled Feb. 6-April 28. Interested companies may apply through Nov. 25 at eFactory.MissouriState.edu.

The program is funded by $350,000 from Missouri Technology Corp., $150,000 apiece from the MSU Foundation and RMI Inc. and $75,000 from the Springfield Business Development Corp.
