Springfield home prices rise across the board

Posted online
Springfield home prices increased across the board in June, according to the latest report from real estate market tracker CoreLogic.

Including distressed sales - which factor in short sales and real estate-owned transactions - Queen City prices moved up 2.2 percent in June compared to the same month a year earlier. They also were up 1.4 percent from May, according to a news release.

The city’s prices, excluding distressed sales, were up 2.9 percent from a year earlier and 1.2 percent from a month earlier.

Compared to June 2014, Missouri’s home prices rose 3.4 percent on average, both including and excluding distressed sales, according to the release.

In the United States, the average for prices including distressed sales amounted to a 6.5 percent year-to-year bump and 1.7 percent month-to-month increase. The U.S. average has risen on a year-to-year basis for 40 consecutive months, CoreLogic reports.

Excluding distressed sales, U.S. prices increased by 6.4 percent compared to June 2014 and by 1.4 percent compared to May.
