NewStream consolidating operations in Solo Cup building

SRC Holdings Corp. division NewStream Enterprises is consolidating its Springfield operations after the recent lease of additional space at the former Solo Cup building.

Early this year, the supply chain management company leased Ohio-based plastic packaging systems manufacturer Buckhorn Inc.’s 120,000 square feet it vacated at the 1100 N. Glenstone Ave. building owned by Warren Davis Properties. That brought NewStream’s total space at the property to 350,000 square feet.

Now, the company is in the process of moving operations and employees from its two other Springfield centers — at 3055 E. Division St. and 2401 E. Sunshine St. — into the large Glenstone Avenue building across from Evangel University.

“As an employee-owned, open-book management company, NSE understands the benefit of having its owners in a central location,” company spokeswoman Sara Kaderly said via email. “The move will increase communication between departments, enhance employee engagement and improve efficiencies throughout the warehouse.

“The new space will not only allow NSE to house all of its current customer accounts on one campus, but also leave room for future expansion.”

NewStream leases the other buildings from SRC, which plans to use them for expansion needs, Kaderly said.

By the end of this month, 25 employees are scheduled to move over to the Solo Cup building. NewStream employs 250 in Springfield and also operates a 62-employee plant in Joliet, Illinois. Kaderly declined to disclose 2016 revenue.
