Miller-O’Reilly Co. Inc. today opened its roughly $3.5 million student housing development Deep Elm with a ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by ambassadors for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The roughly 55,000-square-foot development - located at 701 E. Elm St. across from Missouri State University's Bear Park North parking garage - comprises 116 beds in 39 units. The apartment buildings, designed with a West Coast theme by Bates & Associates Inc., are connected by a plaza in the middle. Build LLC served as general contractor, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

The all-utilities-paid, dorm-style apartment complex is the second of its type Matt Miller and Pat O'Reilly of Miller-O'Reilly Co. have opened on the MSU campus. The Monroe opened on the National Avenue side of campus in August 2011. Another similar development, The Jefferson at 835 S. Jefferson Ave., is set to open this month in time for students to move in, according to a news release.

Miller-O'Reilly Co. also operates Eko Park, Walnut Alley, Six23 Condos and downtown loft apartments.[[In-content Ad]]
