Greitens appoints 2 members to MSU board

Posted online
Gov. Eric Greitens appointed two new members to the Missouri State University Board of Governors.

They are Springfieldian Craig Frazier and West Plains resident Carol Silvey. Frazier succeeds Springfield attorney Joe Carmichael, and Silvey took over for St. James Winery CEO Peter Hofherr, according to a news release.

“They will bring fresh energy and new ideas to help the university advance its goals while keeping tuition affordable for Missouri students,” MSU President Clif Smart said in the release.

Frazier currently is executive vice president of business development for MotoMiner, an Ozark tech firm that developed a portal for finding new and used cars for sale. A board member of Springfield Innovation Inc., Frazier worked until October 2014 as chief operating officer of HealthMedX, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Silvey serves as senior associate for advancement at Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ West Plains office. She’s also a past faculty member at MSU-West Plains, working 1968-91 as a history instructor and 1991-2006 as director of development, according to the release.

Frazier and Silvey are scheduled to attend their first board meetings March 23-24 in Kansas City. Other board members are Virginia Fry, Gabriel Gore, Stephen Hoven, Carrie Tergin, Beverly Miller, Gregory Spears, Kendall Seal and Tyree Davis.
