Cox College president steps down

Posted online
Three-year Cox College President Lance Ratcliff has left the nursing school.

Ratcliff vacated his position, effective immediately, to “pursue other opportunities outside of the organization,” according to a news release. Officials with Cox College and CoxHealth could not be reached for comment by deadline.

Ratcliff succeeded the retired Anne Brett as president of Cox College in September 2013. He joined the organization that January as vice president of academic affairs. He’s since overseen enrollment growth and the addition of new programs at the CoxHealth-affiliated nursing school, according to the release.

Retired CoxHealth executive Robert Lunn stepped in Friday as interim president for Cox College. A 46-year health administration veteran, Lunn helped CoxHealth President and CEO Steve Edwards found the CoxHealth Leadership Institute, which is now known as the Center for Professional Development. He also previously worked as CEO of the Springfield-Greene County Regional Health Commission.

The Cox College Board of Trustees is conducting a national search to find Ratcliff’s permanent successor. Lunn is scheduled to meet with Cox College faculty, staff and students on March 1, according to the release.
