Queen City foreclosure rate ticks down in June

While Springfield’s foreclosure rate was flat from May, its June rate was down compared to the same month a year earlier.
The Queen City foreclosure rate for the month was 0.4 percent, down from 0.5 percent in June 2014, according to a news release from real estate market tracker CoreLogic.
In June, Missouri’s foreclosure rated decreased to 0.6 percent from 0.7 percent, while the U.S. rate dropped to 1.3 percent from 1.7 percent a year earlier.
Springfield’s mortgage delinquency rate - a precursor to foreclosures defined as loans at least 90 days delinquent - fell to 1.6 percent from 2.2 percent last year. Missouri’s rate dropped to 2.6 percent from 3.1 percent, and the U.S. experienced a decrease to 3.5 percent from 4.4 percent, according to the release.
