Moving from Nixa, Watts said customer growth had plateaued in her 1,700-square-foot store at 1875 N. State Highway CC. The new 3,000-square-foot space is leased from KPAC Registered LLLP for undisclosed terms. Just 4 You specializes in consignment resale of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, and Watts said the company pays consigners 40 percent upon purchase. James Gentry IV on April 22 moved the child care center to 545 N. Walnut Ave. in Republic, formerly Little Blessings Daycare. Gentry said the 2,000-square-foot purchased space is a third larger than the preschool and day care’s footprint in Springfield, at 3411 S. Kansas Ave. Student capacity also more than doubled to 20 in the move to Republic. Declining to disclose the building purchase price, Gentry said the company spent roughly $20,000 in renovations. The school, designed for infants through 3-year-olds, follows the Reggio Emilia approach of learning through play, Gentry said. Staff members serve organic meals, and full-time care is $185 per week and part-time cost for one or two days per week is $45 per day. Nonprofit chain Mers Goodwill opened a $2.4 million retail thrift store May 5 at 425 S. Western Ave. District Manager
Lisa Dooley said the 14,587-square-foot store features a covered drive-thru for donation drop-offs. Sales proceeds from clothing, furniture, housewares and other donated goods go to Mers Goodwill’s local career center to help individuals with disabilities and special needs return to the workforce.
