Elliott, Robinson & Co. LLP Manager Carrie Brown received the Woman to Watch-Emerging Leader Award in the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants’ 2016 Impact Awards.

Banking
Central Bank of the Ozarks hired Teri Cantwell as human resources vice president responsible for personnel policies, programs and practices. With seven years of experience, she is a member of the Human Resources Association of Central Missouri and the Society of Human Resources Management.

Education
Anjanette Nowell assumed a new role at MSU’s Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts as director of sponsorships and educational programs. Previously, she coordinated the outreach programs and the Center for Arts in the Schools partnership. She has a bachelor’s in music education and a master’s in music performance, both from MSU.

The U.S. Department of Education awarded $504,284 to Andrea Hellman, assistant professor of English at Missouri State University, to implement and evaluate teacher training of the English language. She is collaborating with Springfield Public Schools, and the school districts in Monett and McDonald County over the next five years.

Health Care
Dr. Judith Tonlaar joined Spring View Dental Care. She received her dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. Tonlaar is a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.

Law
Thirteen area attorneys were among over 120 lawyers honored as Senior Counselors during The Missouri Bar’s 2016 annual meeting: Joe Chowning, of Branson; Theodore Scott, of Buffalo; Chester Hayes, of Kimberling City; Michael Garrett, of Monett; and Max Bacon, Stephen DahlgrenWalter Fowler Jr., Phillip Garrison, Harold Glass II, William Hart, John Kane III, Lincoln Knauer Jr. and John Pratt Jr., of Springfield. The honor recognizes admittance to the state bar for 50 years or lawyers the age of 75.

Manufacturing
Springfield Sign & Neon hired Jack Watts as a design engineer. He previously worked as an electrical systems engineer for the Dominion-Surry Nuclear Power Station. Watts earned his bachelor’s in science in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Marketing
Date Lady Inc. hired Lauren Stalder as marketing project manager to align and strengthen the brand. With five years of experience, she previously worked as marketing and communications coordinator at 417 Magazine.

Media
The Country Music Association named KTTS 94.7 FM as the 2016 Small Market Station of the Year. Host Cash Williams was nominated for Personality of the Year.

DL Media Inc., owned by Dianne Davis, received certification as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise from the Missouri Office of Administration.

To qualify, a woman must have necessary expertise, own at least 51 percent of an enterprise, manage and control daily operations and be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident.

Nonprofit
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks added board members Scott Meier, general manager for Midwest Family Broadcasting; Stan Jinks, financial adviser with Edward Jones; and Ty Alexander, a professional engineer and principal for Terracon Consultants Inc.

Big Brothers Big Sisters hired Kristina McTeer as a match support specialist and Sofia Caito as special events coordinator. McTeer has a degree in social work from Missouri State University and has worked in hospital and mental health case management. Caito, an MSU graduate in public relations, has worked for the Muny in Forest Park and at Geile/Leon Marketing Communications in St. Louis.
