Architecture
Hood-Rich Architecture hired Nick Beishir as an architectural designer. Beishir holds a master’s in architecture from Drury University.

Athletics
The Professional Golf Association named Hickory Hills Country Club Golf Director Rick Neal as PGA Golf Professional of the Year in the Midwest. A member of the association for 19 years, he has led Hickory Hills’ golf operations for 15 years.

Banking and Finance
UMB Bank hired Lawing Financial branch manager David Compere as a senior vice president and financial adviser. A 20-year veteran in financial services, he holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Guaranty Bank hired Ashlee Radford as vice president and director of corporate services. Previously working at Liberty Bank, she has 14 years of experience and a bachelor’s in leadership studies and organizational studies from Drury University.

RPS Financial Group hired Cory Meyer as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual products.

Education
College of the Ozarks created five vice president positions in line with its organizational goals: academic, vocational, Christian, patriotic and cultural. College Dean Eric Bolger added VP for academic affairs to his role; CFO Rick Hughes as VP for vocational programs; Justin Carswell, VP for Christian ministries and dean of the chapel; Admissions Dean Marci Linson, VP for patriotic activities; and Character Education Dean Sue Head, VP for cultural affairs.

Government
The city of Springfield was named a winner of a Digital Cities Survey award by e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government. In the 2015 Digital Communities program, Springfield ranked No. 6 among cities with populations of 125,000-249,000.

Health Care
Citizens Memorial Hospital Walk-In Clinic hired Mandy D’Agostino as a family nurse practitioner. She holds a bachelor’s in nursing from Rockhurst University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Law
Five Neale & Newman LLP partners were named to the 2015 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers Magazine: Richard Owensby, in estate planning and probate; Richard Schnake, appellate; Kevin Hays Dunaway and Patrick Platter, workers’ compensation; and Brian Asberry, business litigation. Also, firm partner Judson Poppen was named a Rising Star in the business litigation category.

Spencer Fane LLP hired Adlai Groves as an associate for its real estate group. He holds a bachelor’s in economics from Missouri State University, a law degree from University of Oklahoma and a master’s in economics from University of Maine.

Manufacturing
Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems hired Rick Wiedemann as director of global business development and Americas sales. Wiedemann holds bachelor’s degrees in manufacturing engineering and engineering management from Miami University in Ohio and an MBA from University of Kansas. He worked most recently in vice president roles for CST Industries in Kansas City.

Marketing
ADsmith Marketing and Advertising hired Paul Gildard as a video producer. He spent three years as a master control operator at KRBK-TV, where he was responsible for graphics in the News at 9 segment.

Nonprofit
The Rainbow Network received recognition from Personal Energy Transportation International for effectively making 112 rural communities in Nicaragua “leg mobile,” with donations including 300 wheelchairs and over 300 canes and crutches.

Arc of the Ozarks elected Mary Beth Steckel to its board of directors. Steckel, wife of MSU football coach Dave Steckel, has 20 years of experience as a nurse including 12 years as a staff nurse for the Columbia Public School District.

Habitat for Humanity of Springfield recognized businesses and individuals at its annual Hearts & Hammers ceremony: Michal Moss Early, Andrew Wells and Kelly Greens Apartment Homes received Gold Hammer awards as the most valuable supporters; A Beautiful Mess, Great Southern Bank, Keystone Building and Design LLC, Warner Brothers Construction LLC, James and Kathleen Caffey, and Carol Nachbar received Building Communities awards for special dedication to the organization; and Junior League of Springfield, Missouri Sprits, Ozarks Counseling Center, Tristin Failla, Mary Keidle, Jim Luzadder, Dee Maples, Debbie Pierson, Rob Pyland, Jessie Tindall and Bonnie Watkins were recognized with Helping Hands awards.

Springfield Business Development Corp. received two awards from the International Economic Development Council: Gold for a video series and Bronze for developing LiveInSpringfieldMo.com.

The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools provided 250 coats, totaling over $8,000 for students in need through its Coats for Kids program. The second annual Rock N’ Ride by Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge No. 422 raised $2,000 for the donation.

Philanthropy
Youngblood Auto Group donated a 2007 Orange County Chopper that netted $25,000 during Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks’ Hooked on Dance annual fundraiser.

Real Estate
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Coldwell Banker broker/owner Judy Huntsman to the Missouri Real Estate Commission. She is the past president of the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors.

Sales
Bret McGowne
joined the Springfield-Branson office of VR Business Sales as a business intermediary. He most recently owned and operated the Springfield-Branson Renew Crew, formerly Wood ReNew, franchise.

Tourism
Leah Chandler
, chief marketing officer at the Branson Convention and Visitors Bureau, received the Young Professionals Rising Star Award from the Travel and Tourism Research Association.

Transportation
Mark Walker, chairman and CEO of Transland Inc. in Strafford, was selected as third vice chairman of the Missouri Trucking Association during its annual conference in October.
