Bank of Sullivan hired Crystle Stranghoener as retail supervisor at its Springfield branch. She has 13 years of financial industry experience and a bachelor’s in early childhood education from Missouri State University.

Ron Penney, a wealth adviser with Penney, Murray and Associates/Ameriprise Financial, was named among America’s Top 1,200 Advisors in a state-by-state listing by Barron’s Magazine. According to the listing that ranks him No. 9 in Missouri, Penney manages $1.5 billion in assets and clients’ typical net worth is $2 million.

Education
Southwest Baptist University senior Matthew Randolph passed both parts of the certified management accountant exam. He is the first SBU student to take the CMA exam before completing his degree.

Glendale High School orchestra teacher Andy Johnston was named Music Educator for Missouri by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Recipients are chosen by their respective state associations.

The Southwest Missouri School Counselor Association awarded Kickapoo High School counselor Amy Moran the Secondary Counselor of the Year and Delaware Elementary School principal Stephanie Young the Counselor Advocate of the Year.

Glendale High School family and consumer sciences teacher Kyndal Bockelman was named the Missouri ProStart Educator of the Year during a state competition Feb. 17. Her culinary team placed second out of 23 contestants.

Field Elementary School principal Janell Bagwell was named Missouri National Distinguished Principal by the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals during its annual leadership conference. She was selected by peers from a pool of 12 principals.

SBU mathematics professor Kevin Hopkins contributed to the “Thomas’ Calculus, 14th Edition” textbook published in January by Pearson. He worked on the Interactive Figures portion of the MyLab Math online course.

Health Care
Dr. Eric Reavis
joined A Hip Joint as a chiropractor. He’s worked in chiropractic medicine and held a license to perform acupuncture in Springfield for the past 10 years.

Service
Adam Graddy
and Melisa McGuire of Graddy Real Estate won a Keller Williams International Award as the No. 1 Team for closed units in 2016. It’s the team’s second year winning the award.

Arthur J. Gallagher and Co.’s Springfield-area Vice President Carol Morgan was named 2017 Power Broker by Risk and Insurance. She was recognized in the employee benefits category for innovative work with Missouri school districts through the Missouri Educators’ Trust.

Library Center Youth Services Manager Sarah Bean Thompson was named a Mover & Shaker by Library Journal. She co-chaired the Springfield-Greene County Library’s first LibraryCon in 2015 and again last year, when it brought together 3,500 fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and comic book characters and literature.

Stoneridge Flooring Design hired Joe Combs as an outside sales representative in Branson West. He previously worked as marketing manager for UnderCover Truck Bed Covers and with the Community Olympic Development program.
