Jacksonville, Florida-based One Call Care Management plans to create 100 jobs in Springfield by year’s end.
The workers’ compensation care management firm expects to begin operating by late summer in half of a 65,000-square-foot building owned by Warren Davis Properties that until early last year housed UnitedHealthcare, officials announced today during a news conference at Busch Municipal Building. UnitedHealthcare vacated 50,000 square feet in the building. The rest was vacant.
“One Call utilizes clinical oversight to help create better outcomes for employers and injured workers, so making sure we can hire and train candidates in Springfield who can provide this kind of specialized service was critical to our decision,” said Chris Watson, chief operating officer of One Call Care Management, in the release. “Harnessing Springfield’s robust health care talent pool and finding an available plug-and-play building in Springfield meant we could fast-track our new service center for our customers.”
One Call is working with the public-private Missouri Partnership and Springfield’s Partnership for Economic Development comprising the city, City Utilities, Greene County, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Springfield Business Development Corp.
The company’s workers’ comp products include diagnostics, home and complex health care, dental and doctor care, and medical equipment and devices. One Call helps payers make claims and can refer patients to doctors. The company currently operates regional call centers in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida, Parsippany, New Jersey, and West Hills, California, according to its website.
