2017 40 Under 40 Yearbook: Brian King, 53

Posted online
Then: Vice president of administration and finance, Ozarks Technical Community College
Now: Chancellor, Los Rios Community College District

A lot can happen in 18 years. Brian King was vice president of administration and finance at Ozarks Technical Community College in 1999 and come 2017 he remains in the same sphere yet on the opposite side of the country. King now is 53 years old and the chancellor of Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento, California.

King moved to California to take a position as the president of Cabrillo College, where he served for close to nine years. From there, he transitioned.

Back in ’99, King and his wife were looking forward to their first child; now they have two teenagers – 15 and 17 years old. King says though they love living on the Pacific coast, they miss their friends and family back in Springfield.

In his spare time, King enjoys running and watching movies, but his biggest focus right now is getting his kids through to college.
