A couple months after his 40 Under 40 award last year, Andrew Hedgpeth was promoted from system director for CoxHealth to vice president of human resources. Over the last year, he’s had his hand in an international nursing recruitment endeavor – over 100 nurses were hired from around the world – and has doubled CoxHealth’s focus on culture and being an employer of choice.

“At the end of the day we recognize that (our buildings) are just shelves without our people,” he says.

Hedgpeth, who has a wife and three kids, finds it important to be a good father and citizen to his community.

“I have the opportunity to continue to play a very active role in my kids’ lives and to help my kids be the best that they can,” he says.
