Springfield Bicycle Tours LLC
Husband and wife Shaun and Sarah Fossett started Springfield Bicycle Tours LLC, offering three themed tours around the city led by guides beginning April 12. Shaun Fossett said the couple spent less than $10,000 on 12 Trek hybrid bicycles and four kids’ bikes, plus general liability insurance coverage. Springfield Bicycle Tours is stationed at Potter’s House, where the rides start. For $14-$28 per person, riders choose between Coffee Meets Donut, with stops at local coffee shops; Parks & Recreation to ride the greenways and parks, some with picnic lunches; and points of interest routes to historic and popular sites and neighborhoods. The couple got the idea while backpacking in Europe two years ago. “There was no one doing something quite like that in Springfield, to show people the city from a different perspective,” said Shaun Fossett, who works part-time as a counselor at Missouri State University and associate director at Potter’s House.

Cast Co + Work + Space
The co-working space at Farmers Park moved March 15 to the first floor and renamed the office as Cast Co + Work + Space. At 2144 E. Republic Road, Ste. B-103, Cast now has 22 desk spaces, four social workspaces, a conference room for 10 and two smaller meeting rooms, said Valerie Rooney, the office coordinator. Cast, owned by Green Circle Projects, previously operated on the second floor of Building B. “The way we set it up is way more efficient for cooperative working,” Rooney said. Prices range from an hourly rate of $7 to full membership of $850 per month. Social memberships also are available for $250 a month, according to its Facebook page. The packages include high-speed fiber internet, a printer/scanner/copier, full kitchen, complimentary coffee and local brews on tap. Rooney said among the 13 current monthly members are Brandigm, EFCO, The Nature Conservancy and Demi Creative. Little Sunshine’s Playhouse moved its corporate office into the former Cast space.

Mercy Clinic Family Medicine/Convenient Care-Bolivar
Mercy Springfield Communities on April 3 opened a primary care clinic in Bolivar, at 2520 S. Springfield Ave. Led by Dr. Oakley Tyler and two advanced nurse practitioners, spokesman Brad Haller said the clinic accepts walk-in patients and offers specialty outreach services, such as orthopedics and cardiology. According to Mercy estimates, patients from Bolivar during a 12-month span accounted for 4,600 visits at Mercy – roughly a quarter of the city’s population. “It was time,” said Jenine Vincent, Mercy’s vice president of regional operations, in a news release. The health care provider is the first tenant in Cribbers Corner shopping center, signing a three-year lease for 3,010 square feet, Haller said. He said Jake Wolf is practice manager in Bolivar, among other clinics, and Mercy now operates about 40 clinics across southwest Missouri.
