On June 1, Randy Scheer became a named partner of the newly rebranded Sanders Warren Russell & Scheer LLP. Scheer began his career in 1987 in the Kansas City office of Husch Blackwell LLP, and 10 years later he opened a Springfield office for the firm. CoxHealth Center Marshfield
CoxHealth moved its Marshfield clinic to 1245 Banning St., a $3.5 million center where officials held a June 2 ribbon cutting ahead of seeing the first patients June 12. Brock Shamel, administration director for Cox Medical Group, said the health system has operated in Marshfield for over 20 years at 941 E. Hubble Drive, and the new, larger clinic is more visible near the intersection of Interstate 44 and Spur Drive. The 7,000-square-foot office has 18 patient rooms, to accommodate family practice visits, as well as specialists on rotation. New services to CoxHealth Center Marshfield are physical therapy care and telemedicine equipment. “The patient will be able to come into the clinic, to be able to do intake, and then a specialist will be on the other end, to potentially see the patient,” Shamel said.

Cross-Midwest Tire Co.
Cross-Midwest Tire Co. built a new $3 million tire service center at 511 N. State Highway 125 and relocated its Strafford operations on May 4. The 32,000-square-foot building on Historic Route 66 in Strafford is designed to add on another 25,000 square feet, for an anticipated relocation of its Springfield retreading operations within two years, said Dale Benson, the service center manager. He said the changes are part of new owner Pomp’s Tire Service Inc.’s plans since acquiring Cross-Midwest Tire late last year. The company sells tire brands Bridgestone, Firestone and Bandag and provides service work, preventative maintenance and light mechanical repairs. The new Strafford center, which moved from 201 W. Evergreen St., has 23 employees and offers 24/7 emergency service. Pomp’s Tire now owns over 130 centers across the Midwest, and combined with Cross-Midwest Tire annual revenue is estimated to approach $500 million, according to trade publication Tire Business.
