Lost Signal Brewing Co.
Springfield’s fourth brewery opened Feb. 11 at 610 W. College St., after construction delays pushed back plans. Lost Signal Brewing Co. occupies 4,000 square feet in the former KICK radio station building, which Nesbitt Construction Inc. crews gutted and renovated to the tune of $150,000, according to city building permits. Owner Tyler Hoke leases the building on an indefinite term from his father Jack Hoke, who bought the building in March. Tyler Hoke is a Springfield native who attended The Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago to study brewing science. His self-funded brewery joins Springfield Brewing Co., Mother’s Brewing Co. and White River Brewing Co. in Springfield. Lost Signal serves barbecue from its kitchen and seats roughly 80 indoor and another 40 on an outdoor patio. Hoke said beers on tap, priced $4-$5 for 16 ounces, include an American pale ale and a smoked pecan porter.

Countryside BBQ Pro Shop
Ryan McCoy sold Countryside BBQ Pro Shop on Aug. 24 for undisclosed terms to Brett Goforth, a former manager of the store. With the ownership change, Countryside BBQ moved to 2857 S. Campbell Ave. from 1316 E. Republic Road, and became a dealer for Kamado Joe ceramic outdoor cookers. Goforth said the store also sells Weber and Primo grills and competition-level smokers by American BBQ Systems, accessories and dry rubs and sauces. Grills range from about $70 to several thousand dollars for an outdoor kitchen. Goforth leases 1,700 square feet for undisclosed terms. He’s working to expand with a classroom space to hold “Q School” cooking classes.

Vasken’s Deli LLC
Vasken’s Deli LLC moved Feb. 1 to 3522 S. National Ave. following the expiration of its three-year lease in Battlefield Market Place. Owners Staci and Vasken Haroutounian chose the new site to be closer to Cox South and the hospital employees. The signature dish is Vasken’s gyro sandwich, and other Mediterranean cuisine includes hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli, shawarma and falafel due to Vasken’s Arminian and Lebanese heritage. The Haroutounians lease 2,000 square feet from South National Centers LLC on a three-year term. After running the business in Little Rock, Arkansas, the couple moved to Branson and opened the deli in 1997. They added a Springfield store in 2014, and it was run by partners MoDeli LLC until a management dispute and theft allegations severed the relationship in late 2015.
Hours: 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday
