Accounting
Eight staff members in BKD LLP’s Springfield office became certified public accountants: Darin Wallace, Debra Horn, Craig Thornton, Sam Schriver, Todd Green, Caulen Leimkuehler, Hailey Roughton and Dallas Williams. The accountants passed the uniform CPA exam and met the requirements in public accounting work experience.
Banking & Finance
Tanner Greer joined Prosperity Financial Group to offer assistance with investments, retirement planning and asset protection. Recently relocated from Nevada, Missouri, and a University of Missouri graduate, Greer holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.
Kayla Kendrick, a staff accountant with KPM CPAs PC, completed the CPA exam and earned her CPA license. She provides audit services primarily to clients in the nonprofit and governmental industries. Kendrick has a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University, as well as an accounting master’s with a forensic accounting certificate.
KPM CPAs promoted 11 CPA staff members. Kevin Ailor, Sandra Barrera, Jennifer Schatzer and Keith Seiwert were promoted to managers; Joshua Brock, Paige Guempel and Gretchen Russell moved to supervisors; and Katie Fulp, Dave Kendall, Brandon Talty and Michelle Vespa were named seniors.
Education
Victory Media recognized Drury University, Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary as military friendly schools. The 2017 Military Friendly School list identifies colleges, universities and trade schools that do the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and their spouses as students. It’s the sixth year in a row for Drury, and the seventh year for Evangel and AGTS, which currently has 60 students and dependents using their veterans benefits.
Health Care
Haven Home Health LLC was named to the Ability HomeCare Elite Top 500. The list identified the top 25 percent of agencies based on such performance measures as quality of care, patient experience and financial management.
Law
Five partners in the law firm of Neale & Newman LLP were named to the 2016 edition of Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyers. The lawyers and the practice areas in which they were selected: Brian Asberry, business litigation; Kevin Dunaway, workers’ compensation; Richard Owensby, estate planning and probate; Patrick Platter, workers’ compensation; and Richard Schnake, appellate practice.
Super Lawyers magazine named Adam Woody as a 2016 Rising Star in Missouri and Kansas.
Municipal
The Springfield Police Department promoted Cpl. Bryan Welch to sergeant and officer Joshua Ludwig to corporal during a ceremony at the Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center.
Springfield Municipal Court Judge Todd Thornhill was appointed to the Missouri Press-Bar Commission to represent the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association. The commission aims to improve communications between the media and the bench and bar.
Nonprofit
Steve Wallace joined Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield as sports coordinator. He previously worked as corporate training specialist for Security Finance and has experience as a baseball and basketball official for the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Technology
IsoNova Technologies LLC promoted John Tiedeman to vice president of business development responsible for sales, marketing, research and development, and procurement.
He joined the Darr family-owned company in 2014 after working 13 years for General Mills. He has an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
