Summit Wealth Strategies financial consultant Allison Fuehne earned her certified financial planner designation. With a bachelor’s in finance from Saint Louis University, she has worked in the industry since 2007.

Roberts, McKenzie, Mangan & Cummings PC promoted certified public accountant Jackie McCroskey to supervisor in the business services department. With a bachelor’s in accounting from Drury University in 2006, she joined RMMC in 2007.

Banking and Finance
Central Bank of Branson hired Joe Loth as executive vice president for loans. He succeeds Russell Hoeflicker, who plans to retire in March. Loth has 18 years of banking experience and most recently worked as senior vice president/commercial loan officer for Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks.

John Piatchek, founder and president of Piatchek & Associates Inc., qualified for membership in the 2017 Million Dollar Round Table – his 45th consecutive year. Piatchek provides investment, insurance, financial planning, retirement planning and business consulting services.

Education
Evangel University
was named one of the Top 10 Best Colleges in Missouri by BestCollege.com, based on academic quality, affordability and student experience. The school also ranked seventh on the website’s 2017 Best Online Colleges in Missouri list.

Government
Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Tiffany Yarnell as associate circuit judge for Taney County. She’s served as the county’s chief assistant prosecuting attorney since 2013 and as assistant prosecutor since 2007.

Greene County Circuit Clerk Thomas Barr graduated from the Missouri Court Management Institute. Completion of the institute qualifies him for recognition as a certified court manager by the National Center for State Courts.

Springfield Police Department promoted Cpl. Brian Crum to sergeant and officer Thomas Jordan to corporal. The SPD also awarded officer Mark Priebe the Community Service Award.
 
The Missouri Senate appointed committee leadership: Sen. Mike Cunningham, R-Rogersville, as chairman of fiscal oversight and as vice chairman of insurance and banking; Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, as chairman of judiciary and civil and criminal jurisprudence; and Sen. David Sater, R-Cassville, as chairman of seniors, families and children and as vice chairman of local government and elections.

James Hodge was appointed to the State Board of Senior Services for a term ending Aug. 30, 2020. President of James Hodge & Associates Inc. management firm, Hodge hosts “The Senior Forum” weekly radio show.

Hospitality
John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts
received Marriott International Inc.’s 2016 Spirit to Serve Award during the MINA and Full Service Owners Conference. JQH was recognized for service in the community, in-kind and cash donations, nonprofit organizations supported, and community activities and partnerships.

Human Resources
HM Benefits & Risk Management hired Valerie Adams as human resources specialist and Kelli Artherton as a private client adviser. Adams has worked 25 years in the benefits and human resources field and holds a master’s in human resources management. Artherton holds a bachelor’s in fashion merchandising from Missouri State University and has earned licenses in property and casualty and life insurance.

SWI Industrial Solutions Inc. hired Karen Bearfield as human resources specialist. She is an accredited HR professional and has experience in the health care industry.

Parks
The Springfield Botanical Gardens
achieved accreditation through the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program, recognizing standards of professional practices. Located at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, the gardens are among 159 accredited by ArbNet, a global initiative to officially recognize arboretums at various levels of development, capacity and professionalism.
