A handful of properties near Missouri State University are up for auction next month via a trustee’s sale.

The six commercial properties are scheduled to be auctioned Nov. 3 to the highest cash bidder at the Greene County Courthouse steps. The recorded amount due by owner Harris Properties Inc. is $940,000, according to a notice posted in The Daily Events newspaper. The trustee’s sale was brought on by a default in the loans used to secure the properties. Guaranty Bank owns the loans, according to the Greene County recorder's website.

Gary Bishop, an attorney with Mann, Walter, Bishop & Sherman PC who’s listed as the trustee of the sale, declined to comment this morning. Harris Properties owner Darrell Harris also could not be reached at his business, Suntastic.

The properties are at 519, 525 and 533 S. Kimbrough Ave., 524 E. Elm St., and 1451 and 1459 E. Cherry St.

It’s unclear what effect the sale would have on tenants at the buildings, including Suntastic is at 525 S. Kimbrough and Yan’s Chinese Restaurant at 533 S. Kimbrough. The sale also includes the former Lucky Panda Asia Market building at 519 S. Kimbrough, a vacant lot at 524 E. Elm, the former Kokomo Tans building at 1451 E. Cherry and a former Ozarks Area Community Action Corp. Head Start building at 1459 E. Cherry.
